I just posted some thoughts in THE STORIES section about leaving.
Now I’m in the NEWS section and I’m thinking about arriving.
I arrived in London two days ago.
I’m in LONDON!
It feels old here compared to New York City. Maybe this is a sign of me growing up, getting older. I turn 25 next month and I can’t help but think, “Oh my god, a quarter of my life is almost over.” Then inevitably I open a magazine and read about Obama’s younger-than-life speech writer and I want to cry. So what does it all mean: my impending quarter-life-birthday, my new home in this incredible city called London, screaming headlines about young talent taking over the world, tears about that new wrinkle I just found under my eye and the tick-tick-ticking of the clocks. It means - you better get a move on. There’s too much to see and capture and too many people to talk to and learn about and too many places to go and drink wine in and …. not enough time.
So… Hello London. I have just arrived. Watch out because I’ve got a lot to do and not enough time to do it.
Check this space for updates… and get a move on.
